Acting President
- Alain Poher, the President of the French Senate, served as Acting President of the Republic after President de Gaulle's resignation on 28 April until the installation of his elected successor President Pompidou on 20 June 1969 and again from 3 April upon President Pompidou's death in office until the installation of his elected successor, President Giscard d'Estaing, on 27 May 1974.
